Ashlee

Ashlee,

You will be missed more than you could ever know. Your family is now "crushed", but your spirit lives on. You were such an amazing girl, beautiful! I love that smile and wish it hadn't dimmed. I know your pain seemed too much, I've been there....I am there.

I pray for your family, especially your mother and ask God to be with them and give them peace. The days to come are going to be difficult. I'm going to try to get back to Minnesota to be with your mom and have one of our "talks".

Love you & Miss you!

A Great New Book....see side bar :)

Description: Modern-day pressures for supermodel beauty, high-powered careers, and perfect families place a spotlight on a woman's achievements instead of her worth. This book, using stories from numerous First Ladies, shows how they triumphed while experiencing intense pressure. By using their stories, along with a Hebrew proverb and biblical principles, Jane Cook explains that God is the true source of value and worth.

Women will be encouraged to view their roles, talents, and responsibilities as opportunities to allow God to shine through them. Highlights include:

**Abigail Adams' commitment to serving as the primary caretaker for her family
during the Revolution shows the worth of working with eager hands,(Proverbs 31:13).
**Laura Bush's heart of compassion shows the significance of extending hands to the
poor and needy in times of crisis, (Proverbs 31:20).
**Louisa Adams' remarkable solo journey to Paris under siege by Napoleon shows the
value of steadfastness during a time of terror threats, (Proverbs 31:21).
**Barbara Bush's wit and quips reveal the splendor of celebrating joy in life,
(Proverbs 31:25).
**Martha Washington's willingness to knit shirts and socks for soldiers during the
Revolution shows the value of leading by example, (Proverbs 31:19).
**Anna Harrison's words of wisdom and prayers for her children and grandchildren
deliver a family legacy of faith and leadership. (Proverbs 31:26).

Building Your Husband's Self Esteem

One sunny afternoon, a mayor and his wife were taking a stroll down the main street of their city, while he proudly pointed out his accomplishments during his time in office. Then they walked by a construction site and a man called out and greeted his wife. He had been a high school boyfriend.

The mayor said to his wife, “See, dear, if you had married him, you would be a wife of a laborer.”

She answered sweetly, “If I had married him, he would be the mayor.”

A wife of noble character who can
find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a
vineyard.
She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at
night.
In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her
fingers.
She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
When it snows, she has no fear for her
household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and
purple.
Her husband is respected at the city
gate,
where he takes his seat among the
elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells
them,
and supplies the merchants with
sashes.
She is clothed with strength and
dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her
tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her
household
and does not eat the bread of
idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises
her:

"Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is
fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is
to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at
the city gate.

A Christian Woman

As Christian women we sometimes need encouragement and support in our walk with Christ. Life can be overwhelming with the responsibilities of raising a family and maintaining a Christian home. Take some time for yourself. Settle in and enjoy the companionship and support of other Christian women who share your walk.
